Venue Etiquette & Responsible Play

Rosemont Haven Queenstown is committed to providing a safe, sophisticated, and enjoyable environment for all our guests. To maintain this atmosphere, we have established a code of conduct that applies to all areas of our venue, particularly the 18+ gaming lounge.

By visiting 8 Beach Street, you agree to adhere to these standards, ensuring a premium experience for yourself and your fellow patrons. These guidelines exist to protect your privacy, the integrity of our physical licensed venue, and the comfort of every guest who walks through our doors.

Our staff are available throughout the venue to answer questions about any rule outlined below. If a situation is not covered here, our floor managers and concierge team have the authority to guide you in the moment.

Section I — Entry Standards

Before You Step Inside

Rule 01

Mandatory 18+ Identification

As a licensed venue featuring on-site gaming, we enforce a strict policy on age. All guests entering the gaming lounge or staying at the hotel must be 18 years of age or older. We require valid, government-issued photo identification — such as a passport or New Zealand driver's licence — for entry.

  • There are no exceptions to this rule, regardless of booking status or prior visits.
  • Guests without valid ID will be denied access to the casino floor.
  • Identification may be checked at multiple points: hotel check-in, lounge entry, and by floor staff at any time.
Rule 02

Smart Alpine Dress Code

To reflect the boutique nature of our establishment, Rosemont Haven maintains a Smart Alpine dress code. We encourage guests to dress in a manner that contributes to the refined atmosphere of the venue, balancing alpine practicality with evening sophistication.

  • We welcome guests returning from daytime activities, including ski gear stored at our cloak service.
  • Swimwear, soiled workwear, and offensive or overly casual attire are not permitted in dining or gaming areas.
  • If you are unsure about an outfit, our concierge is happy to advise before your visit.
Section II — On the Floor

Conduct Within the Gaming Lounge

The gaming lounge is a space for mature entertainment. We expect all guests to treat our staff and fellow players with courtesy. This includes maintaining a reasonable volume, following the instructions of our dealers and floor managers, and adhering to the specific rules of each game.

Disruptive or aggressive behaviour is not tolerated and may result in removal from the venue. Our floor staff are trained to intervene early and discreetly, so that small issues never escalate into situations that affect other patrons.

Policy Boundary

Physical Venue Only

Rosemont Haven Queenstown is a physical-only entertainment facility. We do not provide, promote, or support online wagering or remote betting of any kind. All gaming takes place in person on our premises, under the supervision of trained staff.

This focus on a single physical location allows us to maintain the highest standards of integrity, age verification, and social responsibility. There is no app, no remote access, and no digital account system tied to our gaming lounge.

Section III — Venue-Wide Standards

House Rules Across the Property

03

Alcohol and Gaming

The Alpine Bar offers a curated selection of premium beverages, and we monitor alcohol consumption closely across all venue areas. Guests who appear intoxicated will be refused service and may be asked to leave the gaming floor. This policy exists so that every guest can make informed decisions at the tables, and so that the safety and decorum of the room are never compromised.

04

Photography and Privacy

To protect the privacy and anonymity of our patrons, photography and videography are strictly prohibited within the gaming lounge. We ask that guests keep their mobile devices stored away while at the gaming tables. Our floor staff will remind anyone seen using a phone near the tables.

In the dining and hotel areas, you are welcome to take photos of your own group — please be mindful of other guests who may appear in frame, and avoid photographing strangers without their consent.

05

Local Community Respect

Rosemont Haven is proud to be part of the Queenstown community. We ask our guests to be respectful of our neighbours when arriving at or departing from the venue, particularly in the late evening. Reducing noise levels in the street helps us maintain a positive relationship with the residents and businesses that share our neighbourhood on Beach Street.

06

Staff Authority

Our management and security teams have the final authority on all matters of entry and conduct. We reserve the right to refuse service or entry to anyone who does not comply with our venue etiquette or who compromises the safety and enjoyment of others.

This authority is exercised to protect the integrity of the Rosemont Haven brand and the well-being of our guests. Decisions made by floor managers and security staff are final and are applied consistently to every patron.

Section IV — Responsible Gaming Commitment

Entertainment, Not a Financial Burden

Gaming should always be a form of entertainment, not a financial burden. We provide a range of resources to help our guests play responsibly. Our staff are trained to identify signs of problem gambling and are available to discuss self-exclusion options or provide contact information for professional support services.

We encourage all guests to set personal limits before sitting down at the tables, and to stick to them. If you feel your play is becoming difficult to manage, speak with any member of our floor staff or visit the concierge desk for a private conversation.
